If you ever head to downtown Milwaukee on I 43 and take the McKinley Road exit, you will cross under Fond Du Lac Avenue overpass. On the wall of the bridge is a beautiful mural chronicling the story of a runaway slave who was arrested in Milwaukee the 1850s. What happened, and why should it be remembered?
